1)
(a) How did that Kohen explain to Rav Nachman bar Yitzchak why he had
married a Giyores of under three?
(b) What did Rav Nachman bar Yitzchak retort?
(c) What did Rebbi Shimon learn from the Pasuk "va'Etein Tzoni Tzon Mar'isi
Adam Atem"? In what connection did he say it?
(d) Then why does the Torah in Bamidbar refer to the women of Midyan and the
Navi Yonah to the people of Ninveh as "Adam"?
2)
(a) Rebbi Shimon explains that the soldiers (who returned from the batle
with Midyan) required purification from Tum'as Meis, because of the
possibility that the corpses they had touched were from Yisrael. What do
the Rabbanan say about that?
(b) How does ?Rebbi Shimon explain the Pasuk "ve'Lo Nifkad Mimenu Ish"?
(c) According to Ravina, Rebbi Shimon concedes to the Rabbanan that "ve'Lo
Nifkad Mimenu Ish" refers to physical death (in which case, no Jew died).
Then why would the soldiers have needed purification from Tum'as Meis?
3)
(a) If a Kohen who is betrothed to a widow is then appointed Kohen Gadol, is
he permitted to marry her?
(b) To whom did this happen?
(c) We learn this concession from the extra word "Ishah". Which case do we
also preclude from the same word "Ishah"?
(d) What does Rav Yosef deduce from the wording in the Mishnah (with regard
to Yehoshua ben Gamla) 'u'Mineihu Lihyos Kohen Gadol'?
4)
(a) If a Kohen Gadol's brother dies, the Kohen Gadol performs Chalitzah and
not Yibum. Why does the Asei of Yibum not override the Lo Sa'aseh of a
Kohen Gadol marrying a widow?
(b) Then why does the Tana of our Mishnah even forbid an Almanah from the
Eirusin, despite the fact that she is still a Besulah (and there is no
Asei)?
5)
(a) 'Kohen Hedyot Lo Yisa Aylonis Ela-im-kein Yesh Lo Ishah u'Banim'. Why
should he need to have both a wife and children?
(b) Rebbi Yehudah forbids him to marry an Aylonis even if he has a wife or
children. Why is that?
(c) How do the Chachamim define a Zonah (which three cases does it
incorporate).
(d) Seeing as the obligation to have children applies to Yisre'eilim no less
than to Kohanim, why does the Tana Kama confine the Din of marrying an
Aylonis to a Kohen?
Answers to questions

6)
(a) How does Rebbi Yehudah derive his definition of Zonah from the Pasuk in
Hoshei'a "Achlu ve'Lo Yisba'u, Hiznu ve'Lo Yifrotzu"?
(b) According to Rebbi Eliezer, a Kohen is forbidden to marry a Ketanah.
Rabah explains that Rebbi Eliezer holds like Rebbi Yehudah. He would also
have to hold like the opinion of Rebbi Meir, in order to issue such a
ruling. To which ruling of Rebbi Meir does this refer?
(c) The Rabbanan concede to Rebbi Meir that a Katan is forbidden to perform
Chalitzah. Why is that?
(d) Why in fact, can Rebbi Eliezer not possibly agree with the ruling of ...
- ... Rebbi Meir? What does he rule with regard to Yibum and Chalitzah regarding a Ketanah?
- ... Rebbi Yehudah? How does he (Rebbi Eliezer) define a Zonah?
7)
(a) Rebbi Akiva defines a Zonah as a prostitute. Rebbi Masya ben Charash
defines her even as a woman whose husband had relations with her. Under
which circumstances would that make her a Zonah?
(b) And what is a Zonah, according to Rebbi Elazar?
8)
(a) Rav Ada bar Ahavah establishes Rebbi Eliezer by a Kohen Gadol. How
would that explain the Isur? To which Isur would he then be referring?
(b) Rava objects to Rav Ada bar Ahavah's explanation, because 'Mimah
Nafshach', if her father accepted her Kidushin, then she is fully Mekudeshes
at the time of the Kidushin. On what grounds does he object in a case when
she accepted her Kidushin herself?
(c) Rav Papa resolves Rava's Kashya from a Beraisa. How does the Beraisa
explain Rebbi Eliezer's opinion from a combination of the words "Besulah"
and "Ishah"? How does this answer the Kashya?
(d) Rava himself establishes Rebbi Eliezer by a Kohen Hedyot, and Rebbi
Eliezer forbids a Kohen Gadol to marry a Ketanah for fear she might allow
herself to be seduced by others and become Asur to him. Bearing in mind
that a woman who is seduced is forbidden to her husband even if he is a
Yisrael, why does he then restrict his ruling to a Kohen?
9)
Rav Nachman bar Yitzchak establishes Rebbi Eliezer like the Tana of a
Beraisa. What does the Tana of the Beraisa learn from the Pasuk in
Chayei-Sarah "ve'ha'Na'arah Tovas Mar'eh me'Od Besulah"?
10)
(a) According to our Mishnah, once someone has children, he is permitted to
desist from having more. What can we infer from there?
(b) This is a proof for Rav Nachman Amar Shmuel. What does Rav Nachman
Amar Shmuel learn from the Pasuk in Bereishis "Lo Tov Heyos ha'Adam Levado"?
(c) According to the second Lashon, the Tana of our Mishnah incorporates a
wife in the words 'Piryah ve'Rivyah'. How will Rav Nachman Amar Shmuel
then reconcile his statement with our Mishnah?
(d) What is then the practical difference between whether a man has had
children or not in this regard?
11)
(a) According to Beis Shamai, the Mitzvah of 'P'ru u'Revu' constitutes two
sons. What do Beis Hillel say?
(b) What is the source of ...
- ... Beis Shamai?
- ... Beis Hillel?
(c) Why do ...
- ... Beis Shamai decline to learn from Adam and Chavah at the creation?
- ... Beis Hillel not want to learn from Moshe, like Beis Shamai?
