1) [line 17, 20] "V'HA'BASAR ASHER YIGA B'CHOL TAMEI LO YE'ACHEL, [BA'ESH
YISAREF;] V'HA'BASAR, KOL TAHOR YOCHAL BASAR." - "Any [sacrificial] flesh
that comes in contact with something Tamei may not be eaten; [it must be
burned in fire;] and as for the flesh, all who are Tahor shall eat of it."
(Vayikra 7:19)
2) [line 19] D'LO YE'ACHEL (TUM'AS BASAR)
If an animal of Kodshim becomes Tamei, its meat is forbidden to be eaten as
it states, "veha'Basar Asher Yiga b'Chol Tamei Lo Ye'achel." (Vayikra 7:19).
The punishment for intentionally eating meat that is Tamei is Malkos. (SEFER
HA'CHINUCH #145)
3) [line 22] LO YOCHAL (TUM'AS HA'GUF)
(a) Regarding a *person* who becomes Tamei the verse states, "b'Chol Kodesh
Lo Siga," (Vayikra 12:4) from which we learn that it is forbidden for a
person who is Tamei to *eat* Kodshim.
(b) The punishment for transgressing this Lav intentionally is Kares. If one
transgresses it unintentionally he must bring a Korban Oleh v'Yored (SEFER
HA'CHINUCH Mitzvah #167). If a person who is Tamei eats the blood of
Kodshim, he does not transgress this prohibition.
(c) This is not to be confused with Tum'as Basar (see previous entry), which
is also called Tamei. Tum'as Basar means that the *Kodshim*, as opposed to
the person eating it or offering it, became Tamei.
4a) [line 28] NOGE'A - the Nitma, the person who is Tahor who comes into
contact with the Tum'ah
b) [line 28] MAGI'A - the Metamei, the person (or object) who makes the
person who is Tahor Tamei (lit. who makes the Tum'ah touch the person)
5) [line 32] TEVUL YOM
A Tevul Yom is a person or utensil that has been immersed in a Mikvah to
become Tahor for Chulin, but is still waiting for nightfall to be completely
Tahor with regard to Terumah. The level of Tum'ah of a Tevul Yom is minimal;
he or it is considered only a Sheni l'Tum'ah and if he or it touches Terumah
or Kodesh, the Terumah or Kodesh becomes Pasul and must be burned. Chulin
that he or it touches do not become Teme'im. After the following nightfall,
he or it becomes completely Tahor with regard to Terumah.

6) [line 1] TEVUL YOM D'SHERETZ - a person who is a Tevul Yom after touching
a Sheretz
7) [line 11] MECHUSAR KIPURIM
(a) There are three stages in the Taharah (purification) process of a Zav,
Zavah, Yoledes, and Metzora: 1. Tevilah (immersing in a Ma'ayan - for a Zav,
or a Mikvah - for the others), 2. He'erev Shemesh (nightfall after the
Tevilah) and 3. a Korban.
(b) The above Teme'im may not eat Terumah until nightfall after the Tevilah.
They may not eat Kodshim until they have brought their Korbanos the
following morning. A Tamei who has only immersed is called a Tevul Yom until
nightfall. After nightfall he is called a Mechusar Kaparim until he brings
his Korban.
8) [line 19] TA'AM BERIBI - the reason of the great Talmid Chacham (and
Gadol ha'Dor, Rebbi Yosi)
9) [line 23] TECHILAH L'KODESH - is a Rishon l'Tum'ah with regard to Kodesh
10) [line 23] L'TAMEI SHENAYIM V'LIFSOL ECHAD - to make two levels that are
Tamei (Sheni and Shelishi) and one level that is Pasul (Revi'i). An object
that can make another object Tamei is called Tamei; and object that is
itself Tamei but cannot make another object Tamei is called Pasul.
11) [line 31] OCHEL SHE'BA MACHMAS TEVUL YOM - food that became Tamei
because it touched a Tevul Yom
