1) [line 10] B'RUMO SHEL OLAM - in the highest spheres of the worlds

2a) [line 15] B'ETZEV - "Harbah Arbeh Itzevonech v'Heronech, *b'Etzev* Teldi Vanim." - "I will greatly increase your anguish and your pregnancy; it will be *with anguish* that you will give birth to children." (Bereishis 3:16)
b) [line 15] B'ITZAVON - "Arurah ha'Adamah Ba'avurecha, *b'Itzavon* Tochelenah Kol Yemei Chayecha." - "The ground will therefore be cursed because of you, you will derive food from it *with anguish* all the days of your life." (Bereishis 3:17) - The word "b'Itzavon" is a stronger form of the word for anguish. RASHBAM states that it connotes double the anguish (see RASHASH).

6) [line 24] "MIHAR TZO'EH L'HIPASE'ACH, V'LO YAMUS LA'SHACHAS, V'LO YECHSAR LACHMO" - "The wanderer will soon be released, and will not die in the pit, nor will his bread be lacking." (Yeshayahu 51:14) - The word for "wanderer" in this context is translated as "bound" (referring in our Gemara to constipation).

7) [line 36] MILCHEMES GOG U'MAGOG
Magog is first mentioned among the sons of Yefes, son of Noach, in Breishis 10:2. The prophet Yechezkel (chapters 38-39) describes a cataclysmic war lead by Gog of the land of Magog, where many nations combine forces to wage war against the land of Yisrael. The prophecy assures Gog that HaSh-m Himself will ruin the war effort and will destroy all of his multitudes. It is traditionally assumed that this war will take place at the end of days, preceding the revelation of HaSh-m as master of His world.

(a) After the death of the Shofet Eihud Ben Geira, Benei Yisrael became lax in their observance of Torah and Mitzvos. In order to prompt them to do Teshuvah, HaSh-m caused King Yavin of Chatzor to attack and subjugate them. After twenty years of subjugation under the cruel general Sisra, Benei Yisrael finally repented and cried out to HaSh-m to save them.
(b) Since they were now worthy of redemption, HaSh-m told Devorah the prophetess that if Benei Yisrael wage war against Sisra, they will be successful. She and Barak ben Avino'am led Benei Yisrael to victory, with the help of HaSh-m, who caused a flash flood in Nachal Kishon that wiped out much of Sisra's army and all of his 900 iron chariots. Sisrah escaped the battlefield, only to be killed by Yael, the wife of Chever ha'Keini. The account of this battle and the glorious Song of Devorah that it inspired are recorded in Shoftim 4-5.

20) [line 36] "GE'AR CHAYAS KANEH, [ADAS ABIRIM B'EGLEI AMIM, MISRAPES B'RATZEI CHASEF, BIZAR AMIM KERAVOS YECHPATZU]" - "Destroy the beast of the reeds, [the assembly of mighty ones among the calves of nations, who ingratiates himself for pieces of silver; who scatter nations and desires battles.]" (Tehilim 68:31) - The Gemara first expounds upon the first four words of the verse, "Ge'ar Chayas, Kaneh Adas," interpreting, "Destroy the beast (Rome, Esav) and take (lit. buy) for Yourself the community (of Yisrael)."

21) [line 37] HA'KANIM - the reeds, the forest
22) [line 37] "YECHARSEMENAH CHAZIR MI'YA'AR, V'ZIZ SADAI TIR'ENAH" - "The boar of the forest (Esav) ravages it, and the prowlers of the field feed on it." (Tehilim 80:14)

23) [line 38] KULMUS ECHAD - one stylus, i.e. they all write the same thing -- the condemnation of Yisrael. The Kaneh (reed, in the singular) is used for making a Kulmus

24) [line 41] KEREIVOS SHE'HAYU CHAFEITZIN BAHEN - the approaches (to the nations) that they desired. The Gemara understands the end of the verse to mean, "He scatters Israel among the nations, because they desired closeness with them."
