Pesachim 11

***************GIRSA SECTION********************
We recommend using the textual changes suggested by the Bach, Rav B. Rensburg and the parenthetical marginal notes of the Vilna Shas. This section is devoted to any *OTHER* changes that we feel ought to be made in Gemara, Rashi or Tosfos.)

[1] Gemara 11a [line 24]:
The words "v'Yitnenah *b'Tzad* ha'Ner
should be "v'Yitnenah *Al Pi* ha'Ner"
which is the Girsa of the Mishnah in Shabbos 29b

*19*) [last line] YAKIZ, U'VILVAD SHE'LO YA'ASEH BO MUM - he should perform the blood-letting, but not near a limb in which a cut will render it a Ba'al Mum (Tosfos Bechoros 34a DH Ileima)

19) [line 6] (MEKADRIN) [MEKARDIN] - to rub down and clean a horse or other animal with a metal comb that has thin teeth (RASHI Beitzah 23a) [(O.F. estreillier) to curry-comb; to rub down and clean a horse with a special comb]

20) [line 7] MEKARTZEFIN - to rub down and clean a horse or other animal with a wooden comb that has thick teeth (RASHI ibid.)

*21*) [line 14] U'MAI SHENA GABEI KIRTZUF - that is, Rebbi Yehudah should have prohibited Kirtzuf, combing with a thick-tined comb on Yom Tov, due to Rabbinic decree. Even though people are careful to stay away from Isurei Shabbos and Rebbi Yehudah saw no need to enact Rabbinic decrees on Shabbos, nevertheless they are not as careful to stay away from Isurei Yom Tov, and therefore Kirtzuf should be prohibited on Yom Tov -- MELO HA'RO'IM, see Ya'aetz.

The Todah (thanksgiving-offering) was a form of Shelamim that was eaten for only one day and one night.
