1) VOWS THAT AFFECT RELATIONS
(a) If you will say that this is a vow of affliction - the
vow should be annulled entirely!
1. It must be, this is a vow that affects relations
between them.
(b) Rejection: That Mishnah is as R. Yosi - the question
remains, how do Chachamim hold?
1. (Rav Huna): R. Yosi taught all the Mishnayos in this
Perek.
2. Question: How does Rav Huna know this?
3. Answer: The Mishnah begins, 'R. Yosi says...;' why
does the Mishnah later say, 'this is R. Yosi's
opinion'? To teach that R. Yosi taught the entire
Perek.
(c) (Shmuel): A man may annul all his wife's vows, except for
'Ploni may not benefit from me'.
1. He may annul 'I will not benefit from Ploni'.
(d) Question #1 (Mishnah): 'Fruits of this province are
forbidden to me' - he (cannot annul, rather he) brings
her from another province.
(e) Answer #1 (Rav Yosef): The case is, she said 'Fruits of
this province are forbidden to me if you bring them' (it
is possible for her to enjoy the fruits - unlike Shmuel's
case 'I will not benefit from Ploni').
(f) Question #2 (Mishnah): 'Fruits of this grocer are
forbidden to me' - he cannot annul,
(g) Answer: Here also, the case is, she said '... if you
bring them'.
1. Objection (Mishnah): If he gets all his fruits from
this grocer, he may annul - if she stipulated '...
if you bring them', why can he annul?
2. Since this last clause is a case where she did not
say 'if you bring them', also the previous clause
('Fruits of this grocer are forbidden to me')!
(h) Answer #2 (To questions 1 and 2): Indeed, she forbade the
fruits, even when she brings them herself;

1. The Mishnah is as R. Yosi; Shmuel's law is according
to Chachamim.
i. (Rav Huna): All Mishnayos in our Perek are as
R. Yosi.
2. When the Mishnah says 'He cannot annul' - it means,
as a vow of affliction, but he can annul as a vow
that affects relations between them.
2) A VOWS WHICH INCLUDES AFFLICTION
(a) (Rav Yehudah): A wife vowed not to eat either of 2
loaves; 1 she would like to eat, the other she has no
desire for. Since her husband can annul the vow regarding
the loaf she wants, he can annul the entire vow.
(b) Version #1 (Rav Asi, citing R. Yochanan): He can only
annul the vow regarding the one she wants.
(c) Version #2 - Question (Rav Asi): A wife vowed not to eat
either of 2 loaves; 1 she would like to eat, the other
she has no desire for - what is the law?
(d) Answer (R. Yochanan): He can only annul the vow regarding
the one she wants.
(e) Question (Mishnah): A woman vowed to be a Nezirah; she
drank wine and became Teme'ah - she receives 40 lashes;
