Biography of Yehuda Katz | Archives | This Week's Parsha
VAYEIRA During this time of much turmoil in Israel,I would like to discuss a concept relating to the Parsha in reference to the future Redemption found in "Moimar Chozek Haemunah" written by the Chafetz Chaim ZLB,may he be a "Melitz Yosher" for the Nation of Israel .(A positive force before the Heavenly Court,Bezer Hashem). Please refer to the "Moimor" ............This is only a short adaptation of the "Moimor"................................................................. ."And Sarah Laughed, saying"After I have whithered shall I again have delicate skin? And my husband is old!"(18:12) After the angels informed Abraham that his wife Sarah in a years time will give birth to a son who will be the heir to Abraham, Sarah had laughed.........It seems that after being barren for so many years,Sarah was in a state of disbelief ,and thus laughted........The Chafetz Chaim ZLB,asked the following question,we know that every letter, word and incident found in the Torah is never superfluous, every item contained in the Torah has a meaning......Therefore,what can we possibly learn from this incident? The Chafetz Chaim ZLB maintains that in fact this incident can teach us a very vital and important lesson in our faith in the coming of the Messiah, and ultimately the Redemption.......How so? That no matter how differcult the exile is ,we must all strengthen our faith in the final Redemption.....Just like Sarah had endured much wanting and waiting to have a son who would be a true heir to her husband Abraham and ultimately her personal redemption arrived,we must therefore also strengthen our faith in the Final Redemption that it too will ultimately come in its proper time!!!!!!! We hear such horrible news and we are broken, but in no way should this diminish our faith in Almighty G-d........No matter how far removed the Redemption may appear to our limited senses,we must never give up hope........Every day we must reinforce our faith in the coming of the Messiah.......This is done advises the Chafetz Chaim ZLB by increasing our Torah learning, especially in regard to our children........Have a good Shabbos....................
