NITZAVIM

I would like to dedicate the following Parsha sheet to my beloved Uncle R' Ahoron Tzvi ben R' Yichiel Michel HaKohen, Zecher LeBrocha....................May he rest in peace............

"You are standing today, all of you, before Hashem -your G-d......................................(29:9)

I would like to ,Bezrat Hashem, learn this verse in a unique manner to perhapes help us all enter into Rosh Hashannah with something to think about concerning our spiritual well being.............................This is an original Torah thought... ................................................Mosha on the last day of his life wished to instill into the Jewish people a sense of who they really are .................................However, verse 29:9 is very relevent to Rosh Hashannah if learned in the following manner, Bezrat Hashem.........................On Rosh Hashannah we all stand before Hashem which is similar to what the verse is saying. But how do we stand before Hashem? This is a very significant question? When the verse says ,"all of you", what is the Torah refering to? Perhapes , this is the key to our question...................On Rosh Hashannah we accept upon ourselves G-ds Kingship over the entire universe...............G-d is King.................... Therefore, when the verse says "all of you" , its primarily refering to all aspects of our very being . We accept G-d's dominion with all that we have. Man is made up of 3 components- mental, emotional (will and desire) and physical............................................................... .........................This is readily seen from Deuteronomy 6:5 when it says, " You shall love Hashem, your G-d, with all your heart (mental) and with all your soul (emotions) and with all your resources (physical)............." When we stand before Hashem , is it "all" of us or just a quarter? Therefore, when the verse (29:9) says , "all of You", it means with all 3 components of what makes us uniquely human. Although, presently we might not be capable of giving "all" for whatever reason. This should not make us despair , G-d forbid.......... As long as we are on the right track towards coming closer to Hashem (ever so slightly), it should make us rejoice..... Just having the right intent is some times "all" we have to give, so be it.........................as long as its "all" we can can muster up at the present monent...........Yet, "all" is whats neccesary if G-ds Kingship is to be actualized.........This is precisely what Mosha wanted the Jewish nation to realize and actualize..............Whatever your personal "all" is now, utilize it the best you can towards actualizing your complete self in serving G-d Almighty..................Have a good Shabbos...................................................
