Ch. 26, v. 3: "Im b'chukosai teileichu" - Rashi says that this means that you should toil in Torah study, "sheti'h'yu a'meilim baTorah." Amost interesting insight into these words: "When you toil in any pursuit, it should be "baTorah," WITH the Torah. For example, you are working for a livelihood. Incorporate the Torah into your workplace. Be honest, speak respectfully, etc. (Mimainos Ha'netzach)

Ch. 26, v. 3: "Im b'chukosai teileichu v'es mitzvosai tish'm'ru vaasi'sem osom" - Fulfillment of mitzvos is called "shmiroh," while fulfillment of "chukim," is called "halichoh." Mitzvos are commands that are readily understood. Doing them is basic maintenance and safeguarding of our decency, "shmiroh." When we fulfill statutes, precepts for which there is no simple understanding, then we are truly devoted soldiers in Hashem's army, and we are training ourselves to be totally subordinate and obedient to His will. This is "halichoh," true progress in our development. We are forming ourselves. Read "vaasi'sem osom" as "vaasi'sem a'tem." (Nirreh li)

Ch. 26, v. 3: "Teileichu" - It is not enough to be involved in Torah study. "Teileichu," you should always progress. (Ohr Hachaim Hakodosh)

Ch. 26, v. 3: "V'es mitzvosai tish'm'ru" - You should stand guard and await for the opportunity to do a mitzvoh, and not have the lackadaisical attitude of only doing a mitzvoh when it is conveniently plunked in front of you. (Toldos Yitzchok)

Ch. 26, v. 44: "Lo m'astim v'lo g'altim" - The verse in Malachi 3:6 says, "Ani Hashem LO shinisi v'a'tem bnei Yisroel LO chili'sem." The gemara Shvuos 36 says that when one repeats the word NO in his statement, it has the power of a vow that he will not .. Hashem has used the word LO twice in our verse, stating that He will not ch"v despise us. This is the meaning of "Ani Hashem LO shinisi," - I Hashem have repeated the word LO. Ch. 27, v. 25: "V'chol erk'cho yi'h'yeh b'shekel hakodesh" - When a person is asked to donate money for a holy matter he does not readily give generously. He carefully calculates the perceived limited funds he has, the importance of the recipient institution or individual, etc. In short he is stingy. When it comes to spending for himself he is very generous, and does not expend much effort in evaluating the importance of the item or pursuit.

Our verse tells us that when we spend on ourselves, "v'chol erk'CHO," it should be very calculated, "yi'h'yeh b'shekel hakodesh," as if the "shekel" was to be spent on something holy. (Taam Vodaas)
