gate on Sukos. The stream called the Amah, that passed through the Azarah,
flowed out through this gate. When necessary, the Amah was blocked, causing
it to overflow and cleanse the Azarah floor.
6) [line 19] EIN EITAM - (a) the spring of Eitam, in the area of Solomon's
pools to the south of Beis Lechem. The aqueducts that brought water from Ein
Eitam to Yeurashalyim were used until the early 1900's and can still be seen
today by arranging a tour with the Zusmans (972-2-652-4934). (Rashi says
that it is possible that Ein Eitam is Mei Nafto'ach, Lifta, to the north of
Givat Shaul, near the entrance to Yerushalayim. However, Eitam is
mentioned among the cities that are located to the south of Yerushalayim in
Divrei ha'Yamim II 11:6.) (b) according to the Girsa SHEN OTAM - a
receptacle for water hollowed out of the marble at the top of the Sha'ar
ha'Mayim, that resembles the shape of a tooth (Shen) and was watertight
(Atum - sealed) (RABEINU ELYAKIM)

the Mishnah on 34b. Rebbi Meir rules that the Kohen Gadol does Kidush
Yadayim v'Raglayim *after* he removes the clothes that he is wearing and
*after* he dons the next set of clothes.
