Pesachim 119
1) INTERPRETATIONS
(a) Lamnatzeach... to the One Who (unlike a person) is happy in His
defeat (as He related to Moshe who intervened successfully).
(b) Videi Adam Mitachas Kanfeihem... His Hand (Yado), outstretched to
receive penitents.
(c) The treasures of Mitzrayim and the rest of the world were taken
by Bnei Yisrael, leaving Egypt bare (kimetzula or kimetzuda).
(d) That treasure traveled through history, making twelve stops
(through conquests) before coming to Rome, where it remains.
(e) Yosef hid three treasures, one was revealed to Korach, one to
Antoninus and one is reserved for the righteous in the future.
1. Korach's treasures worked against him (two interpretations
of the Pasuk v'Es Kol haYekum.
2. Korach was so wealthy that just the keys alone...
(f) "Odecha Ki Anisani..." was sung alternately by David, his
brothers, his father, Yishai, and Shmuel HaNavi, when David was
crowned and in their subsequent prayers for HaShem's salvation.

2) CUSTOMS IN HALLEL
(a) There are various customs regarding the recitation of Hallel.
1. Whether or not to repeat certain verses.
2. Whether or not to recite a closing Berachah.
3. [Abaye] This opening Berachah is always said, as per the
rule Berachah Over LeAsiyasan.
4. Question: Whence that Over means before?
5. Answer #1: The pasuk VaYa'avor Es HaKushi.
6. Answer #2: Vehu Avar Lifneihem or VaYa'avor Malkam
Lifneihem.
7. The Bereisa taught that Rebbi doubled the last Pesukim.
8. R. Elazar b. Parta also doubled from Odecha.
3) DAVID HAMELECH TAKES THE CUP AND BLESSES
(a) HaShem will ultimately make a Seudah for the righteous, and will
pass the cup for Birkas HaMazon to:
1. Avraham
2. Yitzhok
3. Yakov
4. Moshe
5. Yehoshua
(b) Each of whom turn it down, owing to some shortcoming in
themselves.
(c) David haMelech takes the cup, proclaiming Kos Yeshuos Esa...
4) MISHNAH: EIN MAFTIRIN ACHAR HAPESACH AFIKOMAN
5) AFIKOMAN
(a) Question: What is Afikoman?
(b) Answer [Rav]: That one must not move to another Chaburah [to eat
anything] after eating the Pesach.
(c) Answer [Shmuel and supported by others]: Any desert after the
Pesach.
(d) [Shmuel] The same restriction applies to the Matzah which we eat
at the end of the meal.
(e) Question: But the Mishnah implies that the restriction does not
apply after Matzah!?
(f) Answer: If Matzah had been taught, we might have been lenient
regarding the Pesach (which leaves a stronger flavor).
(g) The Bereisa seems to support Shmuel (the pastries may be eaten,
provided the Matzah follows).
(h) No, the Bereisa could be understood as "not only are the pastries
permitted if the Matzah is eaten first, but even if the Matzah is
left to be eaten last."
