Previous daf

Nidah 62

1)

(a) What are the following, and what is their significance ... ? 1. Rok Tapal; 2. Mei Gerisin; 3. Mei Raglayim; 4. Neser; 5. Buris; 6. Kemunya; 7. Ashlag.

(b) What is the Din if they failed to remove a bloodstain?

(c) What will be the Din if, after Toveling the garment which has a bloodstain, he washes it with the seven Samemanim and the stain comes out, or becomes fainter - and what happens to the Taharos with which he worked after the Tevilah?

(d) With regard to the seven Samemanim, does it matter in which order one washes the garment?

2)
(a) What does Rok *Tapel* mean?

(b) What does 'Gerisin shel Chalukas Nefesh' mean?

What sort of urine needs to be used?

(c) How mamy times does one need to rub each one?

Neser is a kind of earth.
(d) Which kind of Neser had to be used, Aleksandrian or Antipatrian?
3)
(a) Why can *Buris* not be Kavrisa (sulfur)?

(b) If Buris is Ahala, how do we explain the Beraisa which lists both Buris and Ahala?

*Kemunya* is also known as 'Sheluf Dutz'.
(c) Where is Ashlag to be found, and how do they obtain it?
4) The Beraisa writes 'He'evir Alav Shiv'ah Samemanim ve'Lo Avar, Tzafon ve'Avar, Taharosav Temei'os.'
(a) What is wrong with this statement?

(b) So how does the Gemara amend it?

Another Beraisa declares Tahor, the Taharos which one dealt with, if the stain only came out after the second time it was washed.
(c) How does Rebbi Zeira qualify this Halachah, and what is his reason for that qualification?
Since when does Tum'ah depend on Kepeida, a surprised Rebbi Aba asked Rav Ashi?
(d) What did Rav Ashi answer him, and what is his proof from the Beraisa of 'Dam Nidah Vaday'?

5) The Mishnah in Keilim states that if pieces of earthenware which had absorbed the Tamei liquids of a Zav, fell into an oven, and someone lit the oven, the oven becomes Tamei immediately.

(a) Why is that?

(b) What Chumra does Resh Lakish introduce in qualifying this Din?

Rebbi Yochanan maintains that, either way, liquid that is not destined to come out, is Tahor.
(c) What is the basis of their Machlokes?
6)
(a) How does Resh Lakish reconcile his Chumra with our Mishnah, which renders the garment Tahor, if the stain did not come out, after being washed with the seven Samemanim?

(b) And what does he do with Rebbi Chiya, who says in a Beraisa 'Dam ha'Nidah Vaday, Ma'avir Alav Shiv'ah Samemanim, u'Mevatlo'?

There is an apparent contradiction between two statements in a Beraisos: One states that if a Revi'is of blood sunk into the ground, the house is Tamei; the other, that it is Tahor.
(c) How do we reconcile the two opinions?
The Beraisa adds that blood which is absorbed in a garment renders the garment Tamei, only if it can come out through washing, but not if it cannot.
(d) What does Resh Lakish do with this Beraisa, which clearly holds that Tum'ah Belu'ah is not Metamei?
7) We have a Beraisa which says 'Kol ha'Balu'a she'Eino *Yachol* la'Tzeis, Tahor'. (
a) What can we deduce from this Beraisa, that will leave us with a Kashya on Rebbi Yochanan?

(b) How do we resolve this problem?
