1)
(a) What does the Tana mean when he writes in a Beraisa 'Chacham she'Meis,
ha'Kol K'rovav'? What are the three ramifications of this statement?
(b) Our Mishnah says that only a relation tears Keri'ah (a well as
uncovering his shoulders and serving the Se'udas Havra'ah) on Chol ha'Mo'ed.
To which type of Meis, besides a Chacham, does this statement not apply?
(c) When must anyone (even a non-relative) tear Keri'ah, even if the Meis is
neither a relative, nor a Chacham nor an Adam Kasher?
2)
(a) What happens to someone who ...
- ... fails to tear Keri'ah and mourn for an Adam Kasher?
- ... actually does?
(b) What is wrong with the original wording of the Beraisa - that one's
children die young to induce one to mourn the loss of an Adam Kasher?
(c) Why is anyone standing by the Meis when he dies obligated to tear
Keri'ah?
3)
(a) When Rav Safra died, the Chachamim did not tear Keri'ah because, they
argued, they never learned anything from him. Abaye objected for two
reasons: one of them, because the Beraisa does not say '*ha'Rav* she'Meis',
but '*Chacham* she'Meis'. What is the second reason?
(b) And what did Abaye tell them when they thought ...
- ... that they had missed the boat, and that it was too late to tear Keri'ah?
- ... that, in that case, they should tear immediately without making a Hesped?
4)
(a) When Rav Huna died, they wanted to place a Seifer-Torah on the bed where
he lay. On what grounds did Rav Chisda object ...
- ... to that? What had Rav Tachlifa seen Rav Huna do in his lifetime?
- ... to the fact that, when they were unable to carry the bed through the narrow doorway, they contemplated carrying him away via the rooftops?
- ... to the fact that they then planned to move him on to a smaller bed, and carry him out through the existing doorway? What was the source for his objection?
(b) How did they subsequently carry him out of the house?
(c) Based on Rebbi Aba's Hesped, why did the Shechinah not rest on Rav Huna?
(d) On what grounds then, did Hashem appear to Yechezkel in Chutz la'Aretz
(according to Rashi's second explanation)?
5)
(a) Under which circumstances is one obligated to make a Shurah and to say
Birchas Aveilim and Tanchumei Aveilim on a Meis that is in transit?
(b) Then why did Rebbi Chanina (and some say, also Rebbi Ila) not pay
respects to the Aron of Rav Huna, when it arrived in Eretz Yisrael on its
way to be buried?
(c) On what grounds were Rebbi Ami and Rebbi Asi initially prepared to go
and greet Rav Huna immediately?
(d) Why did they bury him beside Rebbi Chiya?
6)
(a) On what basis did Rav Chaga volunteer to bury Rav Huna's coffin next to
Rebbi Chiya? What connection did he have with him?
(b) What did he once witness Rav Huna doing?
(c) Yehudah and Chizkiyah Rebbi Chiya's sons, were buried beside their
father. What did the former say to the latter when Rav Chaga entered with
Rav Huna's coffin?
(d) How did Rav Chaga avoid getting burnt? What was it that almost burnt
him?
7)
(a) On what grounds did Rav Yitzchak ...
- ... object when they wanted to place a Seifer-Torah on Rav Chisda's Aron after he died?
- ... bar Ami object when they declined to sew (even inexpertly) the garments on which they had torn Keri'ah after Rav Chisda's death?
(b) Rabah bar Rav Huna and Rav Hamnuna both died at the same time and were
both being transported to Eretz Yisrael together. Why did the camels stop
when they reached a narrow bridge?
(c) What happened to that Arab who arbitrated, deciding that Rabah bar Rav
Huna should be taken across first, and the camels complied with his
decision?
(d) According to Rashi's second explanation, to whom was that child
referring when he mentioned in his Hesped ...
- ... 'Geza Yeshishim'?
- ... 'Seifer Milchamos'?

time either) did this occur?
